Kayak Suggeston

Any suggestion for a fishing Kayak. Most of my fishing is in Rudee and Lynhaven. I have been using a non-fishing sit on top boat. I have looked at the Tarpon 120 vs 140, the Ride 135 and the Redfish. I do not see myself going out to the high rise or any big water fishing. Any suggetsions would be appreciated. Thanks

Fishdog,

Every boat mentioned would make an ideal fishing yak.  I would tend to go with the longer boats, the Ride, 140 or Redfish 14.  If you paddle any distance inside Lynnhaven, you will appreciate the extra length of a little longer boat.  If I were to narrow the selection down to two boats I would be considering the Redfish 14 and the Ride, just my $.02.

I have a Ride, love it.  I also have a Redfish 12 and it is pretty sweet.  Get the Ride, the Redfish 14 is nice but it has that tiny hatch up front.

Re: Kayak Suggeston

I have a Ride that you can demo if you are interested. Cory will probably let you demo one of his Redfish. I would also recommend heading out to the Demo Day that WRO is having this weekend. That way, you can paddle all the boats that you are interested in and also get an idea of the one that fits you best.

Re: Kayak Suggeston

WRO does not sell Heritage so ther will be no redfish there, however I can get one for you to try out at a later date.
