Jet Ski Trailers, Aluminum, Stainless Steel

I work at a local scrap yard and come across alot of aluminum and stainless steel tubing, angle, and plate.  If you are every looking to build something let me know.  I see alot of aluminum john boats and every once in a while a canoe.  We also get in alot of boat trailers and jet ski trailers that are usable and some have titles.  Let me know if you are in need of any of these.

Jake

Re: Jet Ski Trailers, Aluminum, Stainless Steel

Jake, when you come across an alum trailer, with title please give me a call 548-0026 I am very interested.  If you have been to Rudee inlet you may have found parking non existant.  YOU need a trailer to park!!  The single car lot is full by 6:30 am sometimes.  When it is a 50 mile round trip that can make for a bad day!   I assume it is sold by the lb.  What is the going rate?

Re: Jet Ski Trailers, Aluminum, Stainless Steel

An aluminum trailer would probably run at least $250 bucks.  I could find a galvanized steel jetski trailer for a lot less, around $50-75.

That goes for me too Jake.  I sent you a private message right after your first post but I don't think you've checked it.  I'll take a trailer if you get one.

Re: Jet Ski Trailers, Aluminum, Stainless Steel

I will take inventory of jetski (small boat) trailers on tuesday when  I go back to work on tuesday.  I know we have one jetski trailr that doesn't have a title that I promised to joe/agentva. I think it is for two jetskis.  I will take pics of others and post here.

PS-I saw an all aluminum kayak trlr on craigs list the other day for $500 if anyone is interested.

Re: Jet Ski Trailers, Aluminum, Stainless Steel

Thanks Jake.  I wonder what it takes to get a title for a trailer?  Can anyone give me some input?  Cost?  Steps you have to take?  Difficulty?  Possible problems?

I don't have a clue.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  thanks

I got a title for a trailer once, here is how I did it:

Go to DMV, tell them you have a homemade trailer, fill out the form for a homemade trailer, when you get up to the counter they will give you a VIN plate and some rivets, you pay a fee.  Go home and install the VIN plate as per the instructions.  Then you call the police or sheriff dept. and tell them you need an officer to come by and look at your trailer and sign the form.  They will come out and look at the VIN plate you installed and sign the form.  Take the form back to DMV and pay some more $ and they will give you a title are registration for the trailer.

That method worked for me, someone at a trailer supply store recommended doing it that way.  Is that the only way?  Don't know.
