SABIKI BAIT RIGS????

Does anybody here @ TKAA use these things for catching bait fish? I know this is probably dumb to ask, but, do you just put a sinker on the end and just jig it until "Bait On ! " ?  I know it is obvious but I had to ask ( my DI said "the only dumb question is the one you don't ask").

Re: SABIKI BAIT RIGS????

I have.  They're pretty useful in my opinion.  I just attached a weight to the bottom and wait a bit.  Thats a sure way to prevent a skunk :)  On the rigs I have caught spot, silversides, and other bait fish.

Re: SABIKI BAIT RIGS????

i use them all the time in the summer, tip each hook with a small peice of bw fishbites and works really good, ive caught bunker, spot, blues, croaker, threadfins, and spanish on em', also buy the ones with the heaviest lb line u can find to avoid losing hooks fast.

Re: SABIKI BAIT RIGS????

I think they work pretty good. I also use them on the reefs in Florida to catch Ballyhoo, but those things spin and get thier beaks tangled in the line. Hook two at once and it's a nightmare. I usually cut the rig to two hooks when targeting these guys. Shrimp and fishbite baited hooks works good. Have used them here in fresh and salt water. It's always a good backup plan to keep some stowed away.
