North Landing Rd launch
Anybody ever used the launch at the little bridge on North Landing, down from Indian River?  Is is worth it?

Re: North Landing Rd launch

I use the marina (I think it is West Landing Marina)

Take Indian River South

Turn right on West Neck

Go about a mile and the road will curve to the left and you can turn to the right. there is a small white sign

take the right and you will go past horse farm and polo club.  that road dead ends into the marina.

I think it is 3 dollars to launch.

the guy that runs the place is very nice.

Fishing wise. a great spot is to launch at the marina turn right (heading north) as you get to channel marker 11 there is

a little creek on the right hand side that goes back pretty far and is just big enough for a kayak.

Thanks.  Any fish more dominant than the others in there?

Bluegil by the truck load.

plenty of good sized lm bass

I have seen people fishing at the marina catch catfish, pickrel and yellow perch

I have even heard of flounder.

Another spot where people go is to head south (left) from the marina down to channel marker 16

that is were west landing and west neck creek meet.  a few pople I know with bass boats fish that area regularly.

that is also where you would end up if you put in at the bridge and paddled south.

If you fish that area, be ware of when big boats pass you going on the Inner coastal.  They can throw a huge wake that you

get to eat.  Also keep an eye out for snakes in the trees and bushes.

Re: North Landing Rd launch
If you're going to that area, a better bet is to fish the Pocaty. Put in at the bridge on Blackwater Rd just past Pocaty Rd and put in on the left. Looks narrow from there but it opens up to the Pocaty river and is very nice back there. It's on the tail end but actually has better water depth and fishing than the area right off the North Landing and usually no boats. Same species but I've caught stripers that far up and some huge bowfin as well as the usual panfish, bass and cats.
