Flounder
Where are all the flounder at? Has the new 19inch rule slowed the catch? If you guys were wondering why I havent posted, well the navy has got this thing called sea time and it was my time to come back. I am over here in the Gulf until next year and hopefully I will be back next year to find the old flatties hideouts. They also frowned on the idea of me taking my yak with me, I did bring my poles though, if I catch anything worth showing I will post. Until next Spring MACK52 is in drydock.

Re: Flounder

Uh, you were the one with the good flounder reports last year.  Since you are at sea, just give us a google earth map showing where your flounder spot is along with bait and tecnique and maybe we can put some pics of flounder up for you to look at.

Jokes aside, it has been slow for me, I've only landed one keeper this season so far.

Re: Flounder

Caught well over 100 flounder this year and haven't been able to invite one home for dinner yet and I have hit some of your spots doing it. 19 is a tough number to get inshore this year.

Oh yeah, don't worry I won't tell Tom where we saw you all those times we were Flounder fishing last year.

Re: Flounder
CBBT is the only place where people are catching more than one at a time right now. I'm taking a very long paddle tomorrow on a scouting mission after some flatties and tog.

Re: Flounder

Brett, that's awesome.  Go out to Bennett's Creek park and score some fiddler crabs.  Trust me, you don't want any other bait out there this time of year, to many bait stealers.  Fish between the last set of pilings and the rocks at the 1st island.  Sheepshead fishing sucked last year but the year before that we caught some nice ones there.

Re: Flounder

mack52,

Definately know what you mean when Sea Time calls. Fortunately I retired after 26years of service. Keep us safe shipmate. I know the gulf must be hot.

Guy
