| LATE REPORT 26 JULY- LYNNHAVEN PUPS!!!! |
|
|
Got out Saturday Morning with MO and Cole (Ann's son). Launched before daylight and headed out. Ran into Beach Bum and another Pirate in the Bruce Smith Flat. Caught four good fish there from 22 to 29. Headed on back to ANOTHER spot and had drag screaming and rods bowed for two and a half hours solid. Most of the fish were sight cast with a gold spoon standing up in the Ride. Finished the day with over 20 reds and 8 or 9 oversized. The biggest was 32 inches and close to fifteen pounds. All fish were caught on spinner baits or gold spoons (Johnson Silver Minnow or Norton Rattler). MO did hook up a bruiser on a fly but the knot didn't last throught the fight. This has been the story for three months and will be for another three. Get out there and give em' hell.

Oh yeah, Cole had a blast and will soon be the youngest TKAA member and he doesn't have a parent that is a member. He is about two weeks older than my son Austin. That made me think, should we offer a family membership at a discounted price?

I'm with you Scott, I stink there....I think I always pick the wrong tide or go deep when I'm supposed to be shallow or viceversa, or something like that. It is alot of water to cover and if you need to be at the right place at the right tide I'm not making the match.

Last year I had it dialed in, but that was pretty much the only place I fished. This year I've expanded my horizons but can't nail them in the Lynn the same way.

I've been doing pretty well on some reds myself. But Mitch what the heck are you catching "cockers" on ? Second thought you went with Chad and I do not want to know about the hard hitting cockers. WOW

Mitch is a Master Electrician, not an English teacher. I knew I could count on Fins to call him out. I think that Mitch was so tired from catching so many fish that he couldn't make a complete sentence. Leave him alone, I got your back MO......... |

Will you show me too.. We fished it hard yesterday with all the new toys and only found 1 at 22' and a striper about the same on topwaters. Lightning chased us away just as the tide was switching at sunset or I'm sure we would have done a lot better as the ebb picked up. "12 ft. I am using a 1/4 oz and 1/8 oz. I also did really well on a spoon that was sent to me for review. I have given some out and haven't heard back, they are the Norton Rattler at www.nortonrattler.com. I fish them with high end swivel attached to the spoon by a split ring. I know that there a lot of people that say that you shouldn't do that but I wear them out that way.

I did throw the Rattler quite a bit the other day. I casts well and has great action but didn't get anything on it that day. Nice looking spoon and love the weed guard. It will get used some more. "12 ft. Manta Ray-- 55 yr old engine" Tarpon 120, Pungo Classic, MEMBER TKAA BOTTOM 10 CLUB |
