Speckled trout and rockfish report 11/1/08
Modified By Kent Dorfman on 11/3/2008 4:34:17 PM)

My brother in law and I drove over to HRBT at 4am and it was a bit
rough and cold so we headed back to the Coleman Bridge. We launched and fished
the Coleman Bridge and picked up 3 keeper striper and then headed
for the Coleman Bridge. There we had little luck, Jay showed up and I
picked up a 16" speck. Two other kayaks, a 2 boats and a dude in a
canoe were there too so my brother in law and I decided to head back
to the Coleman Bridge to try and finish out our striper limit. As we rounded
the corner into the Coleman Bridge I noticed bait busting, I trolled
around a bit and picked up another 16" speck. Dave was already back
at the Coleman Bridge so I paddled over, we decided to try the spot I picked
up the last speck at. We each caught a couple rat reds, then I got a
fat 21" speck. Then Dave starts yelling and I helped him land a nice
fat 23" speck that weighed 4lbs. Nice. The funny thing was that he
put the Bass Assasin that I gave him on upside down. We saw Carl back
at the launch and he told us about another spot on the Coleman Bridge
side that he has been doing pretty good at so we might want to try it
too.

Yep, the Coleman bridge has just been on fire lately! Funny how nobody talks about it. Forrest

My wife's grandfather was the postmaster in Dublin, VA.  Somehow his postal scale ended up at our house.  It's old but it is dead on.
