Took my biggest spinner bait, added the biggest blades I could find, spooled up some 30lb. braid and went looking for a fight. Probably not many people go out looking for big chain pickeral on purpose, but just felt like doing something different today. So, headed into the cyprus trees, the muck, the flies and mosquitoes and found a bunch ready to rumble. These guys can compete with any fish out there when it comes to brute force. The drag on my Sedona is now toast. Caught a half dozen or so in the mid 20" range. Had one beast cut my braid in just one head shake. I mean these guys were doing all sorts of acrobatic manuevers.
