Room Addition Prices

A freind in Virginia Beach is goingto have a room addition over his garage.  Is $85.00 a sq/ft a good price for this kind of work? Just a simple bedroom..

Re: Room Addition Prices

Is this adding a set of stairs and finishing out an attic space or adding to the footprint?  New ac unit?  Bathroom?  It really depends on what they are doing.  $100 sf is what it cost me to add 2 bedrooms on the side of my house which included a new ac unit and brick exterior but there was no plumbing and it is one floor.

No stairs, already there, will probably need to upgrade the AC but thats a different story since we are in that business.  He just needs the framing and finish work done, along with the wiring for outlets, cable and overhead ceiling fan and light.  But after checking around the $85.00 quote is looking good.
