What would you do?

Wife's car war broken into and her computer stolen, right in front of our house a couple of nights ago.  Police were notified, etc.  My truck was broken into last night, rummaged through but nothing was taken.  I haven't seen much police presence and my patience is growing thin so here's my plan......

Relax quietly on my front porch in the dark with a pump action......friend.  If, and it is a big if I see someone rummaging through my car, I think I would beat the perp senseless with the butt of my......friend.  Bind hands with zip ties and wait for the popo.

Am I over reacting?

Re: What would you do?

Police are busy zapping a 40+ year old, mentally ill woman, armed with a hula-hoop, three times with a stun gun.

Hey she was hula-hooping in a 'threatening' manner, you never know what's next

Trevor your plan sounds good except your forgot the part about dragging the perp into your house before the cities finest shows up to make the bust, just a thought. Sorry about your luck, probably some punks looking for video game and weed $$$

Re: What would you do?

Trevor, you can do that but then when they get out of jail in a couple days they are going to come kick your door in and worse, you might not be home when that happens.  I'd say if you see it, call the popo silently and hope they catch them in the act.  Frustrating.

Re: What would you do?

I have a hard time sleeping when this kind of crap is going on.  I'd leave it to the popo if i thought they could catch the prick.  So, doing nothing or calling and waiting isn't an option.  We'll see how bad the punk is when I catch him.  LOL, I hope it is one of the neighborhood kids so I can drag him home by his ear.  Believe me, when I'm done with them they won't want to come anywhere near my house.

Re: What would you do?
Something similar happened in my neighborhood a little over a year ago. Some gang members were breaking into cars stealing GPS units. One of my neighbors waited for them in full camo. He is an active SEAL. When he saw the teenagers step onto his next door neighbor’s driveway looking into their car (BAIT), he came out and just bumrushed the kid. Smacked him around a few times with open hand like a bia..h. My other neighbor called the police and we all had a good laugh about the incident. The other kid drove off and hit a median and broke off his front axle from what I understand. My neighbor didn’t zip tie the kid but made him kneel on the ground with his hands over his head and his ankles crossed. Man it was funny. The police came then the boy’s mother came out and smacked the crap out of him right in front of everyone. Fuuuunny. It’s a good thing for the kid my neighbor did not pull out his Glock. He was armed the whole time.

Re: What would you do?

You do that and you will be the one treated like a criminal. I had a similar problem in Norfolk back in the 70's. Ended up with my stuff still gone, confronted with a gun, more stuff taken and almost arrested by the police for the confrontation (underage kids). I agree with Tom on that, frustrating but unless you are prepared for lawyer fees for criminal and or civil court, that's the way to go. BTW, I ended up paying another underage kid to take care of the problem for me. Worked out well that way.

Re: What would you do?

Trevor, there you go, offer $ to the neighborhood kids if they tell you who did it.  Then schmack em around for not telling you in the first place.

Re: What would you do?

Use one of these, I doubt kids today would notice a problem.
