Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

Ok, it's time to get this thing started.  Prepare yourselves for our third round in this title fight.  Round 1 we came on strong and let them know we mean business.  Round 2 we took a bit of a beating.  Round 3............well lets just say I'm feeling pretty confident.

We need to get people to commit to this and get fired up for a great tourney.  I want everyone to remember that this is a charity tourney.  We need to act like big boys and girls.  When the boat clubs try to make things hard on us just grin and let it go like water off a duck's back.  Please, do not talk smack on any of the web sites.  I want us to walk in quietly, fish our asses off, then when the numbers come in we celebrate the hard earned victory.  We want to remind everyone that TKAA is the class act.

They've started allready.  They are charging us 25.00 per kayak rather than 60.00 for a team of 4.  But, that's ok.  This is a charity event after all and what is a couple extra bucks?  Don't rock the boat.

We will field 5 teams again and the participants from previous years will get priority.

OK Trevor, where do we send out $25.00 to? I must suppose that the club will pay the entry fee with us paying the club. Is so? Then I'll send it to the address on the Home Page. Is Chad better at passing checks to the Treasurer than Cory was? Better get the $$ while I have them.

payments

If you've already sent your payment to me I'll take care of it.  Otherwise send it to Wayne the same way you would pay your club dues.

If the kayak teams have to have a "minimum of three" could we use that to our advantage and field 7 3-yak teams, v. 5 4-yak teams to spread out the are we cover.

$25 is not much to pay to participate.  Concerning the "fair" thing' it's not worth getting upset about.  Why spend your time arguing with a jerk?  Let's win a category or three and let our fishing speak for itself.  In the end, we are getting at least as much enjoyment out of it and we are donating more money to the children than they are.  That about says it all in my book.

Trevor - Way to go dude!

We will be fielding 5 teams of four like last year.  I will email everyone on who goes where and does what when the roster is filled.  This is a public forum.  Thanks

Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

Are the team rosters filled?  If there's a team(s) that are fishing north/west of HRBT, I'd definitely be up for  joining in.

Steve, Greenbelt

PS  I'm lucky.

Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

The roster is full.  Please check the original post for roster updates.  I'd like to have two or three more folks committed to standing by as there will inevitably be some folks dropping out.

Thanks

Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

OK, folks.  I need one more volunteer for this weekend.  Our feerless leader, Chad had to drop out because of work.  The entry fee is 25$.  Where you fish will be determined the day before the tourney.

Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

Today...and by the looks of things you guys may not be fishing the ocean either.  I'm thinking kiptopeake may be a better bet.  I'll let you know.  Ryan will be the team captain.

Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

Is there a final list of participants?  I would like some confirmation before I make the drive from Maryland.  I'll be rolling in early Friday morning with an itch to fish.  I'll probably stay west of HRBT as I'll be fishing that are for the challenge tourney anyway.

thanks,

Steve

PS  regular team members aren't required to go to the captains meeting are they?

Re: 15th Annual Anglers Club Challenge

Trevor,

No problem.  I got your email and have been in touch with Forrest. I'm good to go.  I would be interested in learning who is fishing and where.  I'm still on track to be on the water Friday if anyone is going out.  I'll check my email before I head south about mid-afternoon today.

Thanks,

Steve
