Forrest, it's more likely that someone NOT from the Peninsula will catch a winning fish from Back River this year. I really don't know where I will fish yet. It will depend on the weather that day and where Calvin and Ben want to go.The problem with the ER is 1) it is inconsistent, and 2) you can forget about a slam bc there are no flounder there and the reds have been small for the most part that I have seen this year. When did you figure out how to catch fish, Grommet? You'd probably be better off betting on me in a slam dunk competition. BTW, I'd rather see an individual calcutta than teams but that is just because I don't play well with others.

What if we just do two man teams? You know, to keep it friendly.

Its too bad that they had they had the big oil spill in Lynnhaven Inlet. I guess all the Jersey guys will be in Rudee this year.

Not true, you know I work on that river and I've seen litterally hundreds of 2-4" baby Flounder in the river this year (unfortunately some dead with the algea bloom a couple of weeks ago) so there's got to be some big ones doing the 'dirty deed' in the river close by somewhere !! 12' Kingfisher, 14' RedFish, 15' Prowler...Let's go Fishin'............Member BTPC |

Sorry, I've caught a bunch of flounder there during the summer but never one over 16". I've caught them off my parents' dock in the Western Branch on the same day I was catching white perch too. Agree about LH, but it's really going to depend on the weather, which seems to change every time I look at it. (which is a lot since I'm the tournament director) Seems like we get slammed every year with this, but barring lightening or a tropical storm, we'll all be out there, hopefully catching fish of some type and size. |

I like that idea. If you don't mind I may join you. It's only a 15 or 20 minute paddle (for Forest). Plus it's sheltered water. I know there's huge flounder out there. There's also Hungar's Creek . Chris's report says 7 & 8lb Specs last week. You can drift there from Cape Charles. Ocean Kayak Cabo Tandem Blue 16.3 |

The problem with Hungars is the lack of a public launch site. I'll probably be fishing somewhere behind the barrier islands if the wind lays down like I think it will. You guys are welcome to tag along if you want. We can split the tolls, gas, parking, etc. Sand Hobie Adventure

You'll have to put your yak inside of your cab to get it accross the CBBT with the wind restrictions. I'll be fishing the hot ditch since it's another tree-hunchin' release tourney anyway, don't want to eat any of them polluted 3-eyed fishes any way. I know there's Pups and Trout back there so I just have to luck into a 14.0000001" Flounder. 12' Kingfisher, 14' RedFish, 15' Prowler...Let's go Fishin'............Member BTPC |

It looks like Back River is the place to be.
Hard fishing is the life for me.
Water spreading out so far and wide.
Keep Norfolk just give me the waterside.

Crab Creek is where I'd rather charter.
I get allergic to the channel markers.
I ate sardines and now I'm gonna spew
