TKAA,
We decided to add a division to the tournament to help a local women that is a victim of breast cancer. Her name is Jennifer Wells and she is TugCapn's step daughter and she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has 6,8, 12 and 13 year children. This is what I posted on the POL site under the post over there in General Scuttlebutt about the fund. I think this a very good cause and I would like as much help as possible from TKAA as possible. I understand that TKAA members are already digging deep to help with Project Healing Waters, but if you can afford to support both then please do.
So far Wild River Outfitters and ARC have both agreed to donate kayaks. I have also spoken with Ann and Crab Creek will support as well. I have gotten TKAA to okay doing a division for her at our tourney. There is a company that makes visors with crazy hair called Flair Hair that has agreed to donate a substantial amount of product to sell or raffle and the proceeds will go to this cause. The girl that does the vinyl decals for me agreed to make stickers and raffle tickets for the two boats for free. The cause will be called Fill the Boat and we will display the two kayaks in WRO and ARC and people can place money in the kayak as a donation in addition to purchasing the raffle tickets. A member of the Susan G. Komen foundation Board of Directors is a friend of Wayne Bradby's. She has agreed to see what the Board can do to help. I would also like everyone to get the Fill the Kayak stickers and put them on paddle blades, kayaks, your car, etc. They will be available soon and they are free but donations are encouraged. They will be available at WRO, ARC, Crab Creek and any other place that will allow them to be displayed. If you would like to have some at your business or work place then let me know or contact Anna at Grafik Trenz. Her website is http://stupidstickers.com (no www). Any ideas that you all have to help would be great.
